For higher cut-in pressure, turn the nut down, and vice versa. The same goes for the cut-out pressure. However, to prevent damage, don’t exceed the maximum allowed system pressure. You can also use the mainspring to increase/decrease both cut-in and cut-out pressures at the same time. The pressure will change for 2 PSI per one turn. On the other hand, you can use differentials to adjust cut-out pressure only. It will increase/decrease the pressure by 3 PSi per one turn.

Installation Step by Step Guide
The installation of any of these units is basically the same. It’s very simple, especially if you carefully follow our guide. So, let’s start with the first steps.
Before you start with the installation, there are a couple of things that you need to do. At first, make sure that you don’t place the pump in a tight space. The location should allow proper ventilation and enough space for the inspection and maintenance of the unit.
You should also protect the pump from weather and water damage. For example, it shouldn’t be in an area prone to flooding or be exposed to freezing temperatures. Another essential thing is noise. While working, the pump makes small vibrations, which might be noisy sometimes. That’s why we advise you to install the pump on a concrete floor with subsoil underneath.
If you need to place the pump in a potentially explosive environment, you need to follow a few tips. First, make sure that the motor has all the proper certifications. Then, the unit must be properly grounded, or any unexpected discharge can cause serious injuries. Ensure that all electrical connections are made in compliance with national, stage, and local regulations.
Let’s start with mounting the baseplate. Remove all the attachments from the baseplate, and clean the bottom side completely. Using the proper solvent, remove the rust-proofing coat from the mounting pads. Then, remove any dust from the holes of the foundation bolts.
Now, you need to ensure that the grout won’t enter bolt holes. We advise you to fill the bolt sleeves with old pieces of cloth, or any similar material. Now, you will need two wedges or shims for each foundation bolt. Put them on each side of the bolt, and lower the baseplate onto the foundation bolts. Then, using machinist levels, level the base plate so that it’s in the right position. Most likely, you will receive a baseplate-leveling worksheet, which will help with positioning. When it’s positioned properly, tighten the nuts at the foundation, and you are done.
Installing the Pump, Driver, and Coupling
Using the proper bolts, mount the pump on the baseplate. Then, mount the driver on a baseplate and install the coupling. Depending on the model, you might notice a slot for high-temperature dowelling. If that’s the case, you need to do a few more things.
First, make sure that the parallel dowel is in the middle of the unit. Then, tighten the bolts closest to the driver, but don’t overtighten them. Outboard bolts are a bit different. You should tighten them only around 15-20% of the standard value. It will allow the pump to expand as the temperature increases, but still keep it aligned to the driver.
Make sure that the driver is disconnected from any power source. Otherwise, it might lead to very serious injuries or even death. We strongly advise you call an electrician to do all the needed electrical connections.
Doing pump-to-driver alignment includes various alignment checks. Don’t skip out on these steps, especially if the process temperature changes or the pump has been serviced. Check the user manual for the necessary comparison and troubleshooting tables.
After you do the checks, you need to perform a vertical angular alignment. Set the indicator to zero and rotate it to the bottom-center position. Carefully inspect the readings and check the manual. It clearly explains what to do if the readings are either positive or negative.
According to the manual, you may also need to perform horizontal angular alignment and horizontal and vertical parallel alignment.
Grout the Baseplate
The required equipment for this part includes cleaners and grout. However, don’t use oil-based cleaner because it will prevent the grout from bonding. Also, we recommend using a non-shrink grout. Before you start, clean all parts of the baseplate that will have contact with the grout.
Form a dam around the foundation and make sure that the foundation is wet, especially those parts that will come in contact with the grout. Pour the grout through the hole, up to the level of the dam, and wait until it sets. Fill the rest of the base plate and let it rest for at least two full days. Then, remove the jackscrews and tighten foundation bolts.
When it comes to maintenance, we strongly advise you to think about safety first. For example, too much heat to impellers might cause the liquid to expand and cause an explosion. If you don’t disconnect the driver from the power source, it might even lead to death. Also, be sure to wear proper equipment when dealing with the pump, and call a professional if necessary.
Maintenance requires three types of inspections: routine, three-month, and annual inspections.
Routine inspections include checking the pump for noise vibration, temperature, leaking, and similar issues. A three-month inspection requires you to check if the bolts are tight and re-aligning the shaft if necessary. Annual inspection requires checking the pump’s capacity, power, and pressure.
